When preparing for an international journey, knowing your departure terminal can make the airport experience easier and more comfortable. The Emirates Terminal Manchester guide helps passengers find the correct terminal, locate check-in facilities, understand arrival procedures, and prepare for their flight. Emirates operates from Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport (MAN), serving passengers travelling between Manchester and Dubai, with onward connections to destinations around the world.
Whether you are travelling for business, planning a family holiday, or connecting to another international destination, arriving at the correct terminal is an important first step. By checking your flight details in advance and allowing enough time for check-in, baggage drop, security screening, and boarding, you can enjoy a more organised start to your journey. This guide explains the key information passengers should know about the Emirates terminal at Manchester Airport.
Which Terminal Is Emirates at Manchester Airport?
The answer to the question “What terminal is Emirates at Manchester Airport?” is Terminal 2. Emirates moved its Manchester Airport operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 effective November 18, 2025. Passengers travelling on Emirates flights should therefore follow the signs for Terminal 2 rather than relying on older airport guides that mention Terminal 1.
Terminal 2 handles Emirates departures and arrivals at Manchester Airport. Before leaving home, passengers should check their booking confirmation, boarding pass, and the airport's official flight information for the latest details. This is especially important for travellers who have not flown from Manchester recently, as airport facilities and airline operations can change over time.
Emirates Manchester Terminal Check-In Information
Checking in at the correct location is one of the most important parts of preparing for an international flight. At Manchester Airport, Emirates passengers should proceed to the Terminal 2 Departure Hall and follow the airline's signs for check-in and baggage drop. Completing online check-in before arriving at the airport can help passengers prepare their travel documents and reduce unnecessary delays.
Passengers travelling with checked baggage should follow the instructions provided by Emirates for their specific flight. Keep your passport, visa or other required travel documents, booking confirmation, and baggage information readily available. Check your ticket for the recommended airport arrival time and check-in deadline, as requirements can vary according to the route and individual itinerary.
If you need assistance with your booking, seat selection, baggage allowance, or special travel requirements, consult the official Emirates website before travelling. Preparing these details in advance can help you move through the airport more confidently.
Emirates Lounge at Manchester Airport Terminal 2
Passengers looking for a comfortable place to relax before departure can benefit from the dedicated Emirates Lounge at Manchester Airport Terminal 2. Emirates officially announced the opening of its new £10 million lounge on September 24, 2026, introducing its latest lounge design to the UK. The facility is located in Terminal 2 and offers designated spaces for dining, working, relaxing, and socialising.
The lounge features comfortable seating, charging facilities, shower suites, prayer rooms, private workspaces, and a dedicated quiet area. Travellers can enjoy freshly prepared food from an open kitchen, barista-made coffee, international dishes, and a menu featuring regional specialities inspired by Manchester and the surrounding area. Another notable feature is direct boarding from the lounge to the aircraft for eligible departures.
Who Can Access the Emirates Lounge?
Complimentary access is available to eligible First Class and Business Class passengers and Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members, including qualifying members travelling in Premium Economy or Economy Class. Other Emirates customers may be able to purchase access, subject to the airline's applicable conditions and availability. The lounge generally opens up to four hours before flight departure, so passengers should check the current arrangements before travelling.
Emirates Arrivals at Manchester Airport
Passengers arriving on Emirates flights should also expect to use Terminal 2 at Manchester Airport. After leaving the aircraft, follow the airport signs towards passport control, baggage reclaim, and the arrivals exit, as applicable to your journey. International passengers should keep their passports and any required entry documents ready for inspection.
If you are meeting a friend or family member arriving on Emirates, check the official Manchester Airport arrivals information before setting off. Flight times can change because of weather, operational requirements, or other circumstances. Checking the latest arrival status can help you avoid unnecessary waiting and coordinate your journey more effectively.
Passengers continuing to another flight should review their connecting itinerary carefully. Transfer procedures can depend on whether both flights are on one booking, whether baggage is checked through to the final destination, and whether another security or immigration check is required. Follow the airport's transfer signs and the instructions provided by the airline.
Baggage Allowance for Emirates Flights from Manchester
Understanding baggage requirements before arriving at the Emirates Manchester Terminal can help prevent delays at check-in. Your permitted checked baggage and cabin baggage depend on your destination, fare conditions, travel class, and individual ticket. For this reason, passengers should not assume that every Emirates itinerary includes the same allowance.
Review the baggage details in your booking or through the official Emirates website before packing. If you need to carry additional luggage, check the available options and charges in advance. Purchasing extra baggage online may be more economical than arranging it at the airport. Travellers should also review restrictions concerning liquids, electronic devices, and other items carried in cabin baggage.
Families travelling with children, passengers carrying mobility equipment, and those requiring special assistance should contact Emirates ahead of departure to confirm the arrangements available for their journey.
Parking and Transport to Emirates Terminal Manchester
Planning how to reach Terminal 2 is another important part of preparing for your flight. Manchester Airport offers transport connections and parking facilities for passengers travelling from Manchester, nearby towns, and other parts of the United Kingdom.
Drivers can review the available Terminal 2 parking options and compare prices before travelling. Booking parking in advance may help with planning and costs. Allow sufficient time to park, reach the terminal, complete check-in, and pass through security.
Passengers arriving by train, tram, bus, taxi, or a lift from family and friends should confirm their route and drop-off arrangements before departure. Once at Manchester Airport, follow the signs for Terminal 2 and check the departure information screens for your airline and flight.
